Chemidex LLC was founded in 1997 to accelerate technical and sales information exchange between raw material suppliers and formulators in the chemical industry. As a formulating chemist in the paint and coatings industry early in his career, Chemidex founder and CEO Bruce Ianni observed first-hand the frustrations of formulators in locating raw materials and technical product information during their development phase. Later, as a supplier’s sales executive, he saw numerous lost sales opportunities because he and his company weren’t aware when their prospective customers most needed product information and chemical samples. Bruce developed the Chemidex cyber library (“Cybrary”) to solve this information exchange issue. Chemidex became the first company in the marketplace with a web-based solution focused solely on this chemical information process “gap”. Since its operational launch in 1999, Chemidex has applied its information exchange solution to multiple sectors of the industrial chemical sector, the cosmetics industry and the food & beverage industry.
Headquartered in metropolitan Kansas City, Chemidex is privately held, with ownership concentrated among senior management. The Company’s senior management team is comprised of experienced professionals from the chemical, food science, cosmetic and information technology industries who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the Company, and includes the original architect and developer of the Chemidex Cybrary. Chemidex’s headquarters staff includes marketing, operations and technology professionals, as well as customer service representatives supporting Chemidex customers and account executives throughout North America, Latin America, Europe (EMEA) and Asia Pacific. The Company’s European operations are headquartered in Dormagen, Germany, in Asia Pacific the Company is headquartered in Shanghai, China.
